Laurie Ferguson has advised of new Community Grants -- Diverse Australia Program (DAP) and National Action Plan (NAP) – to build on Social Cohesion, Harmony and Security.
Applications for NAP will be part of the DAP funding Round. Smaller grants up to $5000 that were a success last year are again available – i.e. to build the capacity of smaller organisations to implement community relations projects and manage gov funding.
Grant between $5000 and $50,000 are available for major projects - 12 months in length and able to be started in late 2009.

Parliamentary Library's Guide to Community Grants
A Good place to start is http://www.aph.gov.au/library/intguide/sp/spgrants.htm which has a guide to community grants . This provides:
- Links to selected sources of Commonwealth, State and Territory financial assistance to community groups.
- A selection of links to non-government organisations which provide community grants.
- Links to commercial services providing grant information via subscription.
- The guide does not include links to scholarships, fellowships or research grants.

Grantslink is also another community grant site- http://www.grantslink.gov.au making it easier to find suitable and relevant grants for your community projects from the many Australian Government Grants that are available. Community Builders
Community builders is another valuable site it lists funding programs from federal, state and local government, as well as institutions, philanthropic trusts and companies.

Area Consultative Committees (ACCs)
Another great resource is the Area Consultative Committees (ACCs - http://www.acc.gov.au/index.aspx) which will be known as Regional Development Australia from January 1, 2009. There are three that service the Calare electorate and they are a fantastic way of linking in and getting advice and information on funding, how to prepare applications and the types of information various funding bodies would be looking for.
- Central NSW ACC is located at Level 1, 34 Sale Street Orange, phone 02 6369 1600. Central NSW ACC covers the area around Orange, Cowra, Blayney, Parkes, Forbes, Condobolin and Grenfell.
- Orana ACC is located at Level 1, Suite 1, 43 Macquarie Street Dubbo, phone 02 6885 1488. It covers Narromine, Warren, Nyngan and Cobar.
- Outback NSW ACC is located at 55 Oxide Street Broken Hill phone 08 8087 8383. The Outback NSW ACC covers the areas in the west of the state including Wilcannia, White Cliffs and Ivanhoe.
